Xinjiang Hami Melon
Pre-cool → linehaul → port handoff
Whole-fruit export with temperature-controlled handoff. We state what we can execute — not unverifiable “door-to-door constant °C” slogans.
Why cold chain decides repeat orders
Hami melon is fresh produce. 香港 buyers fear soft arrival, shelf collapse, and mixed lots more than “no stock.”
-
Arrival condition
Soft fruit, cracks, or surface scald after transit kill the first sell-through.
-
Sellable days
If look collapses in 2–3 days, reorders stop — cold chain is shelf economics.
-
Lot consistency
Mixed sizes or sugar in one container make stall sorting and supermarket QC painful.
The chain we coordinate
Wholesale practice by stage. Exact temperature bands, routing, and carrier follow the shipment contract — confirmed in writing after inquiry.
| Stage | What happens | What you can ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Harvest & selection | Sort by maturity and size; reject damaged fruit | Target piece weight / grade note |
| Origin packing | Cartons, dividers / foam nets as ordered | Pieces per carton, marks, mixed sizes or not |
| Pre-cool / cold-store | Move packed fruit into temperature control quickly | Ship date and expected departure |
| Linehaul | Reefer truck / cold linehaul to port or hub | Temperature-controlled transport description |
| Export / arrival | Documents and handover for your port (e.g. HK, SG) | B/L coordination, arrival window |
| After arrival | Buyer continues cold storage; avoid sun-exposed unload | General receiving & display guidance |
We do not publish unverifiable end-to-end constant-temperature claims on this website.
Packing vs. arrival quality
Four levers that show up at the dock — details locked on the packing sheet.
-
Carton strength
Stack strength for long haul; protects bottom layers under load.
-
Per-fruit protection
Nets / dividers cut abrasion and impact during transit.
-
Count & marks
Clear pieces-per-carton and lot marks speed QC and tracing. Specs → wholesale.
Practical advice for receivers
Downstream storage and cut-fruit RTE rules stay with the local holder (CFS / SFA / your channel).
-
Unload
Avoid long sun exposure and ambient yard dwell.
-
Re-cool
Move into buyer cold store or cool staging as soon as practical.
-
Sort lots
Split “sell now” vs. “hold” — don’t treat the whole container the same.
-
If issues
Photos, carton marks / lot ID, contact within 24 hours so we can check load records.
Melons are a known foodborne-risk category when cut. Whole-fruit wholesale and ready-to-eat cut fruit are different responsibility boundaries. Our inquiry desk focuses on Hong Kong (HKG) arrivals. SFA — Melons and Foodborne Outbreaks.
Food safety & documents
Export fruit needs quarantine / customs paperwork. Import clearance follows the competent authority at entry — we do not replace the buyer’s compliance decision.
Port + arrival week + reefer notes + carton
With those four, we can answer with an executable ship + cold-chain plan.
